Drying technology takes a prominent place in BMA’s range of products and services, with BMA machinery making use of this technology for a wide variety of applications and processing principles. Dryers manufactured by BMA are employed in the sugar and starch industries, and in the food industry in general.

In March 2001, BMA purchased an exclusive, world-wide licence for the progressive development, manufacture and sale of a high-capacity fluidized-bed steam dryer for the sugar industry, which it has since refined and optimized.

Since acquiring this know-how, BMA has already sold three steam dryers, among them two in the Uelzen and Clauen sugar factories. These have not only achieved the best availability figures worldwide, their drying rates, too, have proved to be unmatched. A size 12 BMA steam dryer is capable of processing all the pressed pulp produced at a beet slice rate of 10,000 t/d for the production of dried pulp. BMA can also supply optimized sizes of steam dryers for lower pulp drying rates.
